All sod is harvested fresh to order.

We partnered with Tahoma 31 on several major projects, including supplying the Kansas City Chiefs training facility in June 2024. That same year, we contributed to the Top of the Rock golf course renovation and the 3Bird golf training facility. In 2023, we sodded 16 acres at the Woodson Park athletic complex in Oklahoma City, completed a 30-acre fairway renovation at Gaillardia Country Club, installed turf at Southern Nazarene University for their new rugby field, and sprigged fairways at KickingBird Golf Club.
Tahoma 31 can also be found at premier venues across the country, including the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium, Kentucky Derby turf track, Arkansas Razorbacks football field, Southern Hills Country Club, and Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The WinStar project is officially featured in Golf Course Architecture magazine. The story is now live in their digital issue and is also highlighted as a Featured Project on the Tahoma 31 website. It’s a strong showcase of the work that went into WinStar Golf Club and a great opportunity to share the success across social media and other platforms.

We supply our sand-based Tahoma 31 to The “Palace on the Prairie”, Owen Field, home of OU Sooner football!

#1 in Cold Tolerance: Winter Survivability

The winter of 2013 – 2014 swept a polar vortex into the Midwest that created record-low temperatures. Dr. Cale Bigelow, a professor of turf science and ecology at Purdue University, located in West Lafayette, Indiana, participated in the NTEP study. In a December 2019 article in Golf Course Management magazine, Dr. Bigelow was quoted as saying only 9 of 42 bermudagrasses tested survived with at least 50% ground cover by spring. Some 14 of the grasses completely died. By the end of the NTEP study, Tahoma 31® was rated by far with the greatest winter survivability in Indiana at only 4% winter kill. Mean scores in two states where winter survivability was measured, Indiana & Kentucky, confirmed Tahoma 31’s top status in the three-year study period, 2014 – 2017.

#1 in Shade Tolerance

In tests that measured evapotranspiration rates (mm d-1) under non-limiting soil moisture conditions in Oklahoma (Amgain et al., 2018), Tahoma 31® fared best, while TifTuf used the most water. Overall, Tahoma 31 used 18% less water than TifTuf.

#1 in Traffic Tolerance

Tahoma 31® exhibits excellent traffic tolerance compared to all other bermudagrass cultivars tested.
